LegaCare is an charity offering free legal advice and continued support to people affected by life threatening/life limiting illness as part of their care pathway. We have helped over 7,000 seriously ill people with Wills, LPAs, family and childcare matters, elderly client care, debt, housing and mortgage issues. The people we help are those who would normally not ask for legal help because they come from the poorest parts of the North East .It’s our goal to help them by undertaking essential legal work so that they can get better.

Our services are free to anyone who earns under £30,000 per year or has savings of less than £8000.We will also assist those over the financial threshold for a donation.

Who can use this service?

To access our services, clients and/or their families should be referred to LegaCare through health and social care professionals, or social prescribers. We do not accept referrals direct from the public.

How are services delivered?

Our services can be delivered by face to face meetings, telephone calls or virtual meetings.  At the meeting we will agree with the client what work needs to be undertaken on their behalf and then prioritise it in accordance with their wishes.
