Northumberland CVA, is one of Northumberland’s independent Local Infrastructure Organisations (LIO) and has been a steadfast beacon of support and empowerment since the 1980s, originating in Ashington and working across Northumberland. Our commitment to fostering community development and success across Northumberland is unwavering. We serve as a cornerstone for community groups, voluntary organisations, and charities (the VCS), providing expert guidance, training, and advocacy. Our strategic focus on leadership, partnerships, capacity building, and volunteering underscores our dedication to facilitating lasting change.

- Health and Wellbeing Network coordinates ‘Mind the Gap’ to bring operational services together to tackle the grassroots challenges people face.
- The Employability and Inclusion Network is a collaboration with Northumberland County Council to bring organisations form all sectors together to build stronger relationships with each other and encourage collaboration.
- Our 'Sector Connector' initiative bridges the gap between the business sector and voluntary organisations, fostering mutual learning and collaboration for social good.
Inclusive Initiatives for Social Impact:
In addition to our core services, Northumberland CVA spearheads transformative initiatives aimed at promoting social inclusion and well-being.
- Our ‘Digital Tea & IT’ programme provides vital digital literacy skills to older adults, ensuring they remain connected and engaged in the digital age.
- Our ‘Engage’ initiative supports individuals over 50 who may be experiencing isolation, empowering them to reconnect with their communities.
- Through our North of Tyne ‘Supported Volunteering Project’, we provide tailored support to individuals seeking to embark on their volunteering journey, fostering personal growth and community resilience.
- Our experienced employability team offers person- centred support to people furthest from the labour market. From CV writing, job searching, life coaching and personal mentoring to job club drop ins, the focus is to help people realise their ambitions and enhance their quality of life.
